Family and friends gather around the groaning dining room table for turkey and "all the trimmings" ...tart cranberry sauce, heavenly clouds of creamy mashed potatoes topped with a hunk of melting butter, sweet potatoes bathed in brown sugar and a marshmallow topping, fresh vegetables, a variety of heirloom pies, warm cider and hot tea, Yumm! Chunky Pecan Pie Bars from Miss Spenser's Teatime Recipes Vol. 1 Crust: 1 1/2 C Flour 1/2 C Butter, softened 1/4 C Brown Sugar Beat flour, butter and brown sugar in small bowl until crumbly. Press in greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Filling: 3 Large Eggs 3/4 C Corn Syrup 3/4 Sugar 2 TBSP Butter, melted 1 tsp Vanilla 1 3/4 C semi sweet Chocolate Chunks 1 1/2 C Pecans Beat Eggs, Syrup, Sugar, Butter and Vanilla. Stir in chunks and nuts. Pour evenly over crust. Bake 25-30 minutes or until set.
